Technology: Welding Services are metal and plastics joining services usually done through the application of heat. This can be done by melting the workpieces at the joint interface to form a pool of molten material that when cooled becomes a strong joint. A filler material is often added to the "weld pool" to increase the strength of the joint. Solid State welding is the process of fusing materials on an atomic level under pressure and at temperatures below the melting point of the base material and without the use of filler material. Energy sources used for welding include a gas flame, an electric arc, a laser or electron beam, friction, magnetic pressure and ultrasound. The three major groups of welding processes include Energy Beam welding, Arc/Resistance welding and Frictional/Fusion welding.
