ABOUT Vacuum Casting
Technology: Vacuum Casting Services are urethane and nylon molding operations that produce near injection-mold like quality for short run production and prototypes. Vacuum casting is similar to liquid resin casting except a vacuum casting machine is used to cast the resins to insure parts that are free of voids. The process starts with a master part which is encased in liquid silicon and removed after the mold cures. The mold is then installed in the vacuum casting machine which uses vacuum to draw the casting resin into the mold. Advantages: Vacuum casting produces high quality resin parts in low volumes without needing the expensive tooling of injection molding.
