Wire Fabrication
ABOUT Wire Fabrication
Technology: Wire Forming Services are manufacturing services which stamp and bend wire shapes such as clips, hooks, rings, etc. and/or fabricate products from wire such as shelving and racks. Wire fabricators typically handle a variety of metals in diameters from 0.035 to 0.5 inch. Any number of methods can be employed to bend wire depending on the application, including air benders, press brakes, punch presses, etc. Welding of wire fabrications is usually done by hand in jigs or fixtures or with automated equipment. Tolerances are typically held to +/- 0.01 inch.

Wire forming offers alternatives to perforated sheet metal for applications that require open patterns.

Advantages: Wire fabricating services offer a number of benefits.
  • Technology and methods are suited to all production volumes
  • Minimum material wastage
  • Wire generally has higher impact and heat resistance and is less absorptive than HDPE and similar plastics

    Limitations of Wire Forming Services
  • Can be heavily dependent on manual assembly methods

Applications: Wire fabricating services are used to make a number of common items.
  • Baskets, racks, trays
  • Rebar chairs, hangers
  • Fan and light guards
  • Garden supplies
  • Retail displays
  • Wireforms
  • Carts
